CIRCUIT RIDER NEWSLETTER - JANUARY 2004
As we enter the New Year, Sharon and I are excited to see what the Lord will do in 2004. Our thanks go out to everyone for your prayers, encouragement, and support during the past year. Because of you, we can continue to serve the Lord in the Mt. View Circuit Riders Ministry. The Lord has opened many doors for us to serve Him and we hope and pray that we were a blessing in some small way. All glory goes to the Lord for what has been done. We praise Him for the opportunities that we have had to serve Him in churches doing pulpit supply, camp meetings, mission conferences, and special services around the cities and towns, hills and hollers of the Appalachian Mountains. The month of October started out with a visit from Pastor Abraham Legaspina, who is a national pastor from Cavite, Philippines. I met him when I was a Manila in 2000. It was exciting to hear how the Lord is blessing His work in the Philippines. We attended revival services at Ambassador Baptist Church in Frederick, Maryland. It was good to see Pastor Tom Fry and his congregation again. On the following Saturday, we attended an all day missions conference near Mercersburg, Pa. We saw many old friends there and the Lord opened some more doors to serve Him. On Sunday we had a missions conference at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Waldorf, Maryland. The Lord blessed the services with a great turn out and a deeper burden for missions. The following week we attended a Sword Conference at Faith Bible Baptist Church in Hamburg, Pennsylvania. It was great to meet Pastor Erich Schmidt and his folks. On the 17th, we took Pastor Abraham to New Jersey to visit his sister and family. The following Sunday, Sharon and I went to Spring Run Bible Church in Spring Run, Pennsylvania. Pastor John Semple was recovering from surgery, so I did pulpit supply for him in both morning and evening service. Everyone there made us feel at home and the Lord blessed the services. The next Saturday morning, I went to Warm Springs Baptist Church in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Pastor James Brady had me do a special presentation on Jehovah’s False Witnesses. After the presentation, I went soul winning with Pastor Brady, and the Lord blessed our visits and time together. On the last Sunday of the month, I did pulpit supply at Central UBC Church in Rohrersville, Maryland. It was great to see the folks there again. That evening, I preached for Pastor Richard Miller at Heritage Park Baptist Church in Walkersville, Maryland. It is always exciting to see how God is blessing this new work in Walkersville. They meet in a nursing home and there are always new faces in the services.
As the month of November started, we headed back to Waldorf, Maryland, to do pulpit supply for Pastor Robert Hogge and the folks at Lighthouse Baptist Church. That Sunday evening, Sharon and I were able to visit and present the ministry in Calvary Baptist Church. It was great to meet Pastor Sam Ruckman and his wife, and to see their work in Lexington Park, Maryland. The following Sunday, I did a Veteran’s Service at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Waldorf. Pastor Hogge and his people really know how to make us veterans feel special. I am a Vietnam veteran, having served in the Marines. This service touched my heart and the hearts of the other vets that were there. On the 16th, we were in Ohio for an eight-day stay. On the 16th through the 18th, we were with Pastor Richard Elliott and The Old Time Baptist Church in Conneaut, Ohio. They had just moved into another church this summer and they were busy fixing it up. It looked great! God really moved in each service and there were many at the altar each night. After leaving there and driving in the rain for several hours Wednesday, we safely arrived at Hillview Baptist Church in Port Washington, Ohio. They started their mission conference, which ran Wednesday through Sunday. It was great to see familiar faces there as well as many new faces. Since Brother Gary Edmunds has become pastor there, the Lord is really blessing the work and He blessed the conference beyond words. After preaching there Sunday night, we returned home and went to visit Pastor Brad Tenney at Faith Baptist Church in Martinsburg, West Virginia. I presented an update on the ministry during the evening service. Faith Baptist meets in the Comfort Inn and God is blessing them with souls being saved and baptized. There were many new faces there. Please pray for the following needs for this year: 1. To see more souls saved. 2. For God’s power in Christians’ lives 3. For the Lord to open more doors to serve Him. 4. For more monthly financial support (now at 50%) 5. For safe traveling 6. For return short-term missions trips to Romania in July 7. For Pastors and churches in Appalachian Mountains, Philippines, and Romania 8. For financial help with special building projects in Romania. The Lord has burdened me to help with the following: Water in church $300 Foundation for summer camp $1,000 Fund for sending village children to camp $1,400 (40 children @$35.00 each) If our ministry can be of help to you or if it is a ministry that the Lord has burdened you to help or you would like more information about, give me a call at 301-797-4458 or e-mail me at munslynn@aol.com. There is some more information about this ministry on my web page at http://circuitrider.20m.com. We need your prayers and support during this New Year of 2004.
